Alaw Davies – Pennaeth Plant a Phobl Ifanc Plant y Cwm

Alaw was raised in the village of Llanpumsaint before moving to Bronwydd in Carmarthenshire. Shee moved to the Gwendraeth Valley three years ago and began her career as head of Plant y Cwm, Menter Cwm Gwendraeth Elli. Alaw was raised in a Welsh home and educated at Llanpumsaint Primary School and Ysgol Bro Myrddin, Carmarthen. She studied Welsh at Cardiff University and graduated in 2008. She is a keen member of the Young Farmers movement and a skilled netball player with Sêr y Cwm.

Duties

Co-ordinate and manage staff at all of the Plant y Cwm Clubs
Co-ordination of Theatr Plantos Bach, Theatr Iau and the Youth Theatre
Presenting Life Skills, Language and Play and Active Life sessions
Provide Language Awareness sessions for children and young people of all ages
Prepare activities for Schools Language Charter
Attend meetings and represent Plant y Cwm, MCGE in County and National events

Aled Evans – Children and Young People’s Officer

Aled was raised on a farm in Llangyndeyrn and educated at Ysgol y Fro and Ysgol Bro Myrddin, Carmarthen. He studied Sport at Trinity College and graduated in 2011. Aled began his career as the Children and Young People’s Officer of the Plant y Cwm, Menter Cwm Gwendraeth Elli in 2015. He is a keen football player for Bancffosfelen Football Club and continues to work on the family farm when he has leisure time.

Duties

Introducing Life Skills sessions
Provide sports sessions
Provide language awareness sessions
Computer and promotional work
Language charter activities
Working with the Gwendraeth Valley and Llanelli  youth
